The work, duties and powers of the Board shall be as follows:-

(a) Formulating necessary policies for the development and promotion of films. To submit to the Ministry,
(B) To prepare and implement plans and programs for the development and promotion of movies (c) conducting studies and research necessary for the development of the film sector,

(d) encouraging the private sector to produce quality films in the national language,
(e) To create an environment for the production of films that promote Nepali art and culture,
(f) To encourage foreign filmmakers to make films that will introduce Nepal to the world without harming Nepal's religious, cultural and social values,
(G) To encourage and reward people who have made significant contributions to the film industry by organizing a film festival (h) Arranging the necessary arrangements for the development of film workers dedicated to the promotion of Nepali art and culture. (J2) To provide consultancy services to the movie businessmen in matters related to movies.
(J3) Create and implement a code of conduct to be followed by film businessmen in order to improve the quality of the film business.
(J4) To prepare criteria for the classification of movie houses and submit them to the Ministry.
(J5) Doing other work including editing of movies made in the national language by indigenous producers and recommending to related bodies to export such movies abroad.
(j) To do other suitable work for the development and promotion of the film
